Write a report outlining what happened during the Buncefield explosion. Refer to all related literature and reports provided. Describe the events leading up to the explosion and the after effects. Use the MEM Multi Energy Method to calculate blast pressures and outline what you feel might be the potential for damage to both site assets and the local community.

The objectives of this report will be to demonstrate your understanding of the Buncefield event and the use of the Multi-Energy Method in estimating the blast pressures realised during the Buncefield vapour cloud explosion.

Predictions of the source pressure should be demonstrated in a logical step by step process. All related parameters should be defined and calculated including blast curves and positive phase durations over distances based on calculated volumes of congestion within the vapour cloud.
