b)-2: Research Paper & Presentation (20%)
This part of the assignment should provide students with an inquiry process to tie together theories and practices in ECEC in areas and topics that we have explored in the course
Research paper: Literature Review Research and write a 5-8 page paper addressing a topic of your interest related to any topic(s) from the course.
Discuss why this topic is important. Include specific examples of how you might incorporate the selected ideas from the literature in daily practice with children. The ECEC practice can refer to, but is not limited to, those of childcare centres and/or parenting. Reference to course reading(s) and related literature from your own search is required. For this literature review, you need to include at least 5 scholarly (peer-reviewed) references (mixture of course reading(s) and your own selections)
Presentation part:
To present your paper above to the class and the instructor, please create a 4-slide PowerPoint presentation (1 title slide + 3 contents slides), including recorded voice narration on each slide. (If you do not have access to PowerPoint, then any other presentation tools or other software such as MS-Word to create slides, accompanied with typed scripts of your ‘narration’ would suffice.)

- Physical, emotional, social well being in Early childhood
- The emergence of literacy in early years
- Community and diversity: Language and culture
- Community and diversity: Children with exceptionalities
Keep in mind while writing:
1) A clear and logical introduction (the topic you are going to write, and how you will argue it) with the rationale (what made the topic interesting to you?; any implication from literature?).
2) Overall writing is concise and respectful.
Discussion of your key findings from your exploration that support your arguments (important details that the reader should know)
3)Implications for practice (related to Early Childhood Education and Care)
4)The power point presentation delivers the idea of the paper concisely and effectively
