Design Thinking Project Outline

Design Thinking is an iterative process, which means we repeat several steps in order to refine our innovation or solution through customer-centric efforts. For this project, follow the outline provided below. Please use the same headings and numbering for your final project.

Ideations and prototypes can take several forms. If you sketch out your ideas or handwrite or draw your storyboards or other designs, take a picture and include them in this report. Do the same with any prototypes you develop. The purpose of this report is to document your way through the Design Thinking process. Word minimums have been provided for most sections. However, due to the nature of the differences among the kinds of projects, some sections do not have minimums.

Project Identification and Planning

Problem/Opportunity Identification Stage

What social or community problem do you want to solve, or what new product or service do you want to create? Generally, the end result is the creation of a new product, service, or process, or an updated/improved product, service, or process. It’s okay to be general and not have specifics at this stage. All you need is a brief description of what you are looking to do.

What opportunities do you see related to 1.1.1?

Who may benefit from solving the problem or using the new product or service? Use details when describing this market.

How will you define success? What KPI’s will help track your innovation?
