Answer the following prompt with a 2-3.5 page paper:
In Plato’s Apology we are told the story of Socrates, who is accused of crimes he did not commit and sentenced to death. In the face of death, Socrates laments of themes like virtue, honesty, and divine purpose.

In Leo Tolstoy’s The Death of Ivan Ilych, we meet a much less romantic situation. Ivan life is described as ordinary and, because of this, terrible. His life has the appearance of success, yet his problems are common and his death is not easy. While these stories are of two distinct types, at least one theme remains shared: the link between suffering and authenticity is real.
Your assignment should answer this question:

What is the relationship between suffering and authenticity?
Your answer should be written in one sentence (your conclusion) and it should be supported by other single sentences (your premises). This question is not easy and coming to a single sentence in answer is even harder, so give yourself time.

Your answer should take the following form:
2 — 3 1/2 pages, double spaced, size 12 font, Times New Romans. Your paper should begin with the EXACT paragraph from your outline: “In the paper, I will argue . To do this, I will first…etc.”. It should also end with the EXACT same paragraph, just in the past tense: “In the paper, I argued . To do this, I first argued…etc.”. Included a copy of your formal analysis to the front of your paper. YOUR PAPER NEEDS TO FOLLOW

YOUR ANALYSIS. There are no requirements for MLA, APA, Chicago, etc, just meet the basic requirements listed above. There will be a server grade reduction for papers that do not meet the exact page requirements (so be efficient and only use sentences you need).
