This assignment will ask students to

discuss the “leaderless resistance” model of far-right militancy, both in its development and in its consequences. What events propelled white supremacists to adopt this model of political violence? Was this an effective tactical and strategic adaptation?

For the historical materials, use Belew and Michael for the rise and rapid fall of the Order and its impact on the white supremacist movement during the eighties, and Wright for the Oklahoma City bombing and its impact on the militia movement. I’m not looking for a great deal of detail so you want to just discuss the events in a fairly general level (but not too general).
