Using the attached worksheet, locate and identify the Basic Elements of Short Story found in the essay “Salvation”. There are 25 elements, however, you will NOT find #’s 7, 12, 19, 20, or 21.
You will do this in a word document (with proper MLA heading) number 1-25 and answer in complete sentences using quotes from the essay to support your answers.
For example 1. Characters- The characters in Salvation are, Langston Hughes, Aunt Reed, and the Preacher. The protagonist of this essay is the author and narrator, Langston Hughes.
The Characterization is BOTH DIRECT and INDIRECT. An example of DIRECT Characterization is at the beginning of the essay when Langston says “I was saved from sin when I was going on thirteen.” (Salvation).
