Description
Think about this in detail as it will increase your chances going forward with your overall project and creating a professional, well thought out and researched piece of work. Planning and preparation are crucial to a strong project, and this proposal will help you keep on track.
Your proposal can be produced in written form or in a video format. If you submit a written piece of work, this should be 500 words (10% give or take). If you are submitting your proposal as a video, this needs to be three to four minutes long.
Your idea won’t be complete and may well change for a variety of reasons, but by the time you submit it, the proposal should tell us several things:
– What’s the idea? Be as specific and focused as possible.
– What platform are you going to deliver your project on?
– Why should we care about it? Tell us why anyone should want to watch/listen/read it.
– Who are the main interviewees (where applicable) and have they agreed to take part?
– What sort of media organisation/ academic journal can you see publishing this?
– What is your angle/peg/topic of research?
– What is the competition for this story? Or where does this fit into other academic work?
– Videos can be produced on DSLR/mobile phone.
