Research (Statistic)
In the text, Frankfort-Nachmias and Leon-Guerrero (2018) discuss the process of constructing a research question and hypotheses.
Review How to Extract GSS Data to Excel or How to Extract Data to Excel Using the Library to find statistical data to choose a mock study topic you will explore throughout the course. You must choose either GSS data or data in the University Library and state the name of the dataset in this forum to receive credit. You will continue to use this data throughout the entire course, so be sure to take some time to properly choose and download the data this week.
Write a 250- to 300-word response to the following:
State whether the data you have chosen to work with originated in the GSS site or in the University Library. If a dataset was chosen from the library data, you must state the specific location and dataset you extracted.
Choose and list at least three variables (Hint: choose two independent and one dependent), along with the associated survey question and response choices.
Create a research question using all three of your variables.
Create a null and alternative hypothesis that supports your research question.
Include your own experience, as well as 2 citations that align with or contradict your comments as sourced from peer-reviewed academic journals, industry publications, books, and/or other sources. Cite your sources using APA formatting. If you found information that contradicts your experience, explain why you agree or disagree with the information.
Review your classmates’ posts and respond to at least one in a minimum of 150 words. Explain why you agree or disagree. Then, share an example from your professional experience to support your assertions.
