Integration of Curriculum Revisions
This assignment is designed to help with any curriculum revision or development for your workplace. It does so by linking experiences from this course directly into your teaching, training or workplace requirements. This assignment can be used by those in a teaching role in regards to their curriculum packages as well as those in non-instructional roles addressing items such as training plans, workshop outlines, project launch strategies, and orientation sessions.
Section One: Curriculum Selection
Select one existing curriculum component you would like to adjust or develop. Keep in mind curriculum is much more than a syllabus. You may also wish to consider revisions to items such as learning outcomes, cultural responsiveness, modalities, schedules, plans for delivery of instruction, training sessions, work plans, etc. In this section, provide a brief outline (or sample) of what you have chosen to work on.
Section Two: Selection Rationale
Please provide an overview of how, when and why the specific curriculum document(s) you have chosen were developed or need to be developed. Also include a rationale as to why you have chosen this piece. You may wish to apply a brief SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis in this section.
Section Three: The Revised Material
Using features of a curriculum development process, create a revised or newly developed version of the selected component. An outline of the features of the curriculum development process used and the impact on teaching, learning, or the workplace used must be provided. Also, be sure to include a section on how the proposed change incorporates UDL principles.
