Non-Compliance with taking medications can be an issue when working with clients. Some clients can become combative and place others or themselves at risk when they refuse to take medication. They are often “court-ordered” to take their medication, because they dislike the side effects or how the medication feels.

Pretend you are a human service worker, and you have a court-ordered client who refuses to take their medication. How would you work with that client?
