Punishing the Poor

Prepare a 12-15 page essay and provide an analysis of contemporary representations of punishment in everyday life and/or popular culture from western culture;

→ Must present an argument statement with support;
→ Can include institutional productions and regulations of punishment and penalty, official governmental or non-governmental reports, media and/or artistic or other cultural renditions related to contemporary representations of punishment;
→ May focus on a particular theme or include diverse representations;
→ May use additional academic sources, but not required;
→ Any academic citation style may be used just be consistent.
