How we can move to a more renewable energy based system?Explain

Climate change is happening. We are seeing the affects. Scientific data points to the burning of fossil fuels to make electricity as one of the primary contributors our ever changing world. Renewable energy will help the world transition away from fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are being used to create base load power for utilities. Renewable energy systems like wind and solar are intermittent and require energy storage to compete with fossil fuel to provide base load power 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In this discussion please highlight how we can move to a more renewable energy based system?
