If you had been a woman selecting a field of study during the early days of psychology, would you have chosen to pursue the field? Why or why not? If you had to pick, what area would you have chosen to work in, given the choices available?

Then, select ONE of the following questions to answer as well:

1. How was the dedication of women such as Margaret Washburn, and Maria Montessori demonstrated? What kinds of things did they do to break down barriers? What were their successes?

2. In what ways did Anna Freud, Karen Horney, and Melanie Klein differ in their views of feminine psychology and aspects of psychoanalytical psychology? How might Mary Ainsworth’s work on mother-infant relationships compare/contrast to the other womens’ findings?
