You will pick from one of the Jazz musicians who are known for their improve skills, Listen for how the melody /harmony of each “standard tune” is first presented relatively straightforwardly, and then varied through several repetitions. How does the performer weave aspects of a recognizable melody through the texture as they improvise? Are there particular portions of the melody that are featured more prominently, and if so, why do you think this?

In your best words, use these questions to describe the feel the improve does to this standard. How does this piece make you feel, How does the places where the musician improvises change the way you feel through the piece.

This might seem out of the blue when we’re on baroque music, However Baroque music was about Ornamentation and Virtuosity of the performer which is shown in Jazz performance most prominently. This will connect to how ornamentation was added in baroque performances.
