Paper/Presentation – A Disease Condition and the Grading Rubric. You will be assigned a disease condition in class (Herniated Disc).
This is a medical terminology course and therefore, it is expected that you will write a scholarly paper using medical terminology. You MUST use peer-reviewed journal articles for your citing and summary. In addition, you may also cite our textbook or any other sources, if you get information from there (Please make sure all sources are cited correctly and are peer-reviewed).
The paper will be submitted through Turnitin for plagiarism. You must not copy anyone else’s work. You may paraphrase or re-word but you should still cite. If you are quoting, you must use quotation marks
1. Research peer reviewed articles of the disease condition assigned to you (Herniated Disc). Write a 2-3 page (not including cover or references) paper in APA format regarding this disease. You can get more information about APA formatting here:
2. Include information about the disease condition. Include the following information:
a) Explain the causes of the disease.
b) What body system is this disease related to?
c) What are the signs and symptoms?
d) What diagnostic tests are used to diagnose this disease?
e) What are the most current treatments, if any, for this disease?
3. Include a summary of one article in your paper. Include the following information:
a) What is your article about?
b) What are they trying to determine if they are doing research?
c) What are the conclusions made in the article?
d) How does the information in the article impact medical knowledge?
e) What do you think about this information?
