I did a thematic analysis on 20 articles from the evening standard newspaper. The themes that I identified are media bias, visual stimuli, offender background, criminal justice system and victims. I need this to write the discussion which does not and rewrite the introduction. Therefore, I would like a clear break down of each of the theories above and a list of studies that support or disprove the bullet points. I am a forensic psychologist master’s student. Please relate the research to the depiction of male offenders.
The aim of this study is to assess the following:
1. To understand how the media use images, discourse and language to represent male offenders.
2. To identify any racial bias in how the media, represent White versus Black male offenders.
