For as long as I have been in front of a classroom, February has always been Black History Month … and for just as long I have heard folks praise and condemn the idea of a Black History Month.

Given our discussions on “race,” especially the “social construct” nature of “race,” how do you see the concept of Black History Month fitting into the academic and social world of American Society?
