1. From a potential parent perspective, how has what you have learned potentially influence the way you parent your children? Is there anything about a specific paraphilia that will influence your parenting? Which one and why?

2. Think back to your response in the regarding your expectations for viewing pornography. Have your expectations about pornography use changed since you completed the assignment? Please discuss how and why (or not) your expectations have changed.

3. In your opinion, should prostitution be legal or illegal? Why do you think so? If legalized, should there be specific guidelines in place that protect both sex workers and customers? If so, what?

4. Imagine that you are a parent of a 16-year-old, and you discover that your teen has been exchanging sexually explicit messages with their partner (i.e., sexting). How would you approach this situation, knowing that sexting among teens is considered the distribution or possession of child pornography? Would your approach change if you discovered they were exchanging with individual(s) who were not their committed partner? Please explain.

5. Think about the popularity of books/movies such as “50 Shades of Gray” and music videos such as the Rihanna’s – S&M (Official Music Video) below. Do you think these types of media have pushed our culture to be more accepting of paraphilias? Why or why not? Did you find yourself angry and repulsed, neutral, or accepting or interested in the lifestyle depicted in the Rihanna video? Why?
