By the end of this module students will be able to:
i) understand the nature of values and value judgements
ii) critically examine the value judgements underlying educational practice and theory
iii) appreciate the value laden nature of educational discourse and practice
iv) address cogently and critically educational issues
v) address, outline and constructively evaluate, their positions and those of their peers, in group discussions
vi) relate educational practice and theory to the value assumptions found in key ethical theories
vii) demonstrate the ability to reflect in depth on the way in which values impact on education and vice versa
