This Assessment is designed to assess your knowledge and understanding of in order to fulfil the Assessment Criteria (AC) for Learning Outcome (LO) 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
In order to fulfil all the Learning Outcomes, produce an essay which covers the following:
LO1: Understand the concept of a Supply Chain.
Assessment Criteria for LO1:
AC 1.1 Describe what is meant by a supply chain, including the two types of a supply chain (350 words)
AC 1.2 Describe the components of a supply chain (350 words)
AC 1.3 Explain the difference between forward and reverse logistics within a supply chain (350 words)
AC 1.4 Describe how the concept of a supply chain has evolved over time (350 words)
LO2: Understand the importance of supply chain management.
Assessment Criteria for LO2:
AC 2.1 Describe what is meant by supply chain management (350 words)
AC 2.2 Explain the importance of supply chain management (350 words)
LO3: Understand how to identify risks encountered within a supply chain.
Assessment Criteria for LO3:
AC 3.1 Explain the risks to a supply chain based on organisational factors and how they can be reduced (350 words)
AC 3.2 Explain the risks to a supply chain based on environmental factors and how they can be reduced (350 words)
LO 4: Understand the concept of lean within a supply chain
Assessment Criteria for LO 4:
AC 4.1 Describe what is meant by the concept of lean (350 words)
AC 4.2 Describe how the lean concept can be applied to supply chains, including the use of Lean tools (350 words)
LO 5: Understand the linkages within a supply chain
Assessment Criteria for LO 5:
AC 5.1 Describe the upstream linkages within a supply chain (350 words)
AC 5.2 Describe the downstream linkages within a supply chain (350 words)
• To satisfy all the Learning Outcomes you will need to meet all of the Assessment Criteria (AC) above. Next to each of the above Assessment Criteria, is the word count for that AC.
• Ensure you answer each question under a subject heading i.e. AC1.1 should have a title of Assessment Criteria 1.1 with your answer written beneath. This needs to be repeated for each criteria (AC1.1, AC1.2, AC2.1…).
• There is a requirement for evidence of research, this must be through the use of Harvard style referencing.
