When evaluating and examining history, we can all learn valuable lessons on the do’s and don’ts from our previous conflicts and also other nation’s conflicts as well. In an effort to decrease or eliminate our war efforts we must continue studying our effectiveness and ineffectiveness in the global environments in which we operate.

When you have completed your required readings for this module, you should be prepared to engage in the following discussion activity.

Based on the Small War Manuals, phases of small wars and the military experience from the Philippine war identify at least three lessons and explain how the military applied or failed to apply them during the war in Vietnam. Please, provide examples and explain the outcomes of the effective or ineffective application of such lessons and how it contributed to the outcome of the war.
