Opioid Addiction

In your required readings, you learned that the opioid epidemic continues to be a major public health problem in the United States.

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), opioid addiction has contributed significantly to overdose deaths. In fact, all U.S. overdose deaths involving opioids increased to more than 42,000 deaths in 2016.
