In recent time, the issue of sustainable construction is taken seriously and the impact on the built environment is an important subject area. As we enter the second decade of the 21st century, circumstances have changed significantly since the onset of the sustainable construction movement. These changing conditions are affecting the built environment in significant ways. However, considering the changes and the impact of carbon footprint, you are to investigate the concept of sustainability as it relates to construction industry by critically analysing the following areas.

Discuss how population pressures, increased consumption by wealthier countries, the depletion of finite, non-renewable resources factors affect the wide range of environmental, social, and financial issues

With regards to current/future state of construction, discuss the impact of sustainability on construction industry and explain areas that requires improvement where needed.
