Public Health Policy Evaluation

Scenario
Once a policy is introduced, it should be routinely reviewed to ensure that the goals of the policy are being met. As a public health professional, that is one of your tasks. Select a public health policy in your community and evaluate it. Some examples might be mask mandates for COVID-19 prevention, mandated reporting of select diseases, or implemented environmental policies to increase physical activity.

Instructions
Carefully consider what could be done to improve your chosen policy to make it more effective. In a one-page Word document, write a memo to your local leadership city or county government that includes the following:
Evaluation of the policy, including description, strengths, weaknesses, and specific issues associated with the policy
Recommendation for improvement of the policy
A call to action with next steps for implementing the recommendations

Use data to support your evaluation. Cite and reference your resources in APA format.
