This assignment is intended to assess your ability to:

• Analyze if the approach suggested is the most suitable for the company’s lean environment and

Recommend the approach most suitable for the company’s lean environment.

• Integrate established operation management principles into the discussion.

• Write a business report based on the 5-step critical thinking decision making model.

Action Items

1. Read chapter 6 from the book then read the case: Lean Systems at Autoliv case at the end of Chapter 6.

2. Write a 3-page business brief that explain all the following in details:

a. Case Background: You are an outside consultant hired by Takashi Harada to evaluate and make recommendations at Autoliv.

b. Which method of workflow is embodied in Autoliv’s system?

c. Is this approach most suitable to its lean environment?
