To most people, the beating of Rodney King seemed a brutal case of racist police officers losing control and taking-out their aggressive feelings on this Black man. Yet, the police themselves feel they were simply “doing their job.”

Using the analysis of Jennifer Hunt as well as concepts from course discussions, explain how the police could see their actions so differently from the rest of society.
