Folio Task
What is the task?
A plot of land is for sale, and you have to decide what you think is the best
option.
To decide what the best option is, you
have to take into consideration
The Economic Benefits of the proposal
The Social Benefits
The Environmental Benefits.
You have to list all the benefits of each proposal to show you have compared all
proposals and have come to an educated decision.
After deciding on your preferred proposal, you have to elaborate why you have
chosen that proposal.
Researching and Justifying your Decision.
After deciding on your proposal, the rest of the
folio task is focused on research and justifying your
decision.
You will start by creating an Inquiry Question.
What is an Inquiry Question and how to create one.
An Inquiry Question is supposed to narrow your focus and allows you to focus on something specific.
To help write your Inquiry Question, take the reason you decided on your proposal and turn it into a question.
For example: If you have chosen the fast food option because you like the fact it makes jobs for local teenagers you can create an Inquiry Question along the lines of “How do fast food franchises benefit local teenagers?”
Analyse and Describe the provided information.
Analyse – read carefully the provided information about your proposal and decide what are positive attributes and what are negative attributes.
Describe – Put into your own words what are the positive attributes and why, and what are the negative attributes and why.
Further Research
• This section is all about you using your Inquiry Question to find more information about your proposal and proposal like yours.
Design and Create a Slogan, Meme, Image, ect. This section is used for you to convince the local community to agree with your proposal.
Remember, everyone has a voice and contributes to decisions being made in the community. If they do not like the idea of the proposal they can protest, write a petition or contact their member or parliament.
It is your job to convince them that it is a good idea.
Make sure you show your planning in writing on the folio task.

How did you take into consideration the local community, other examples of your proposal being introduced in other communities?
People are for and against your proposal. You have to tell me how they can express their view points. What do you think is the best way for them to express their view points?
