Overview
ATP, Adenosine Tri phosphate, is often considered the energy currency of living organisms. While glycolysis gives us some ATP, a much bigger ATP payoff comes later in electron transport. It can get confusing tracking all the products of the various steps.
The video below shows a cartoon depiction of ATP production. It provides a walk through of the process and keeps a useful tally of what was used at each step. As you watch, imagine how you would explain
this to someone else. Take notes on the different parts of the cycle and highlight what seems important to you.
Instructions
Watch the ATP & Respiration video.
● In your Initial Thread, you will pick one step of cellular respiration: Glycolysis, Krebs Cycle, or the Electron Transport Chain. Write in your own words an explanation of that process and find an internet
resource that may help demonstrate that process (images make good resources that can be followed as one reads).
● Be sure to put the name of the process in your Subject line and in each of your Response posts pick the other two processes to make
● If you see one process is being shunned in the Discussion (it is usually ETS), then do your classmates a favor and pick it as your process to keep the workload balanced.
