Reflection Paper On Your Family
The short paper is a 3-page (double-spaced, not including cover page, or reference page) reflection of a your own family within the Canadian context. Grounding your analysis in the academic literature, you will reflect upon how your family compares to the Canadian norm, as well as identifying your family’s specific strengths and challenges.
More specifically, the paper has three sections (the sections should flow into each other).
1. Who is in my family?
Family of origin, family of procreation, chosen family, etc.
Describes their family using theory and terms from the course.
2. How do we compare to the Canadian norm?
E.g. number of children, who works, etc.
Identify ways in which you may be the same or different and explain why that might be
3. One major strength and one major challenge your family has faced
Be specific and detailed; focus on resiliency
How did the strength help? How did you overcome the problem?
