The goal of this assignment is to aid you in reviewing the broad range of eclectic approaches in music education to determine which one(s) can result in a more powerful learning experience for students.
Instructions
Select one of the eclectic approaches to music education. Investigate the method’s principles, philosophies, practices, distinctive pedagogy, and historical significance. Discuss its development, role in K–12 general education, and in vocal and/or instrumental ensemble development. Critique the approach and share what you perceive to be its strengths or weaknesses. Also, consider ways in which the approach allows for, if any in your opinion, diversity in curriculum content and/or materials.
