Research Paper: Reformation Assignment Instructions
Overview
The Protestant Reformation was a mixture of five different reforming movements occurring roughly at the same time throughout much of Europe: Lutheran, Zwinglian, Anabaptist, Calvinist, and the English Reformation. The different reform movements did have much in common. One example of this shared heritage among all the movements is the five Solas. The different reform movements also had similarities with one or more of the other reforming movements as well as unique qualities. An example of shared qualities among a few of the reform movements was the magisterial movements of Luther, Zwingli, and Calvin, whereas a unique feature of a single reform movement would be believer’s baptism of the Anabaptists. Understanding more deeply one or more of the branches of the Protestant Reformation will produce a heightened awareness of Christianity today.
