Assignment Title Group Presentation
Type of Submission Hand in a hard copy of the group presentation slides at the time of the assessed presentation.

Backup materials provided by the groups must include hard-copy PowerPoint hand-outs (black and white hand-out format, 6 slides to a page). Slides should be numbered. Groups may also provide additional supporting material which reinforces their presentation but this is not a substitute for the slides or the presentation. These backup materials must be provided to the tutor before the start of the presentation.

Students must also hand in scores out of 10 for the other members of their group in terms of their overall contribution. This Student Peer Assessment (SPA) will count for 10% of the marks for the group presentation, for each individual in the group.

Weighting of the assignment in the overall module grade Each presentation will be marked out of 100 and weighted at 15% of the overall marks. This means that the two presentations, when combined, will count for 30% of the overall marks for the whole module. There will also be a requirement to produce a comparative individual reflective journal after taking part in the second of the group presentations.
Your group will be allocated specific seminars in which you are to make these presentations and specific cases for your group to analyse. You will be given the chance to learn about presentation skills and analysing case studies in earlier workshop sessions and seminars before you are assessed formally.

Word Count/Time allocation (for presentations) Each presentation should have a duration of 15 minutes, in which the group will analyse and discuss its allocated case.

Each presentation should be delivered in a professional manner with hard-copy backup materials provided to the tutor. After the timed presentation, there will be a 5 minute Q&A session where the tutor will ask the group members additional questions to test their grasp and understanding of the case and relevant theory.

Issue Date
Submission Date Groups must present on the appropriate day allocated by the lecturer. Materials must also be prepared and available for submission at the time of the presentation.
It is essential that you attend at your specific group presentation slots. You marks will be affected if you do not attend your allocated time slot.
There is an eight-week programme for the assessed Group Presentations, and these will take place during the following weeks:

Assignment Task
For each assessed group presentation, your group will be allocated a particular case study which will be based on a specific chapter topic from the GBT Hill textbook. Your prime focus should be to analyse and evaluate the performance of the selected business in the case study, with regard to the specific topic, e.g. cultural differences, foreign direct investment etc. As per the “allocation of marks” section later, 40% of presentation marks is for application of theory and concepts, and 40% is for analysis of the case study, 20% of marks relate to the presentation itself and how well this was delivered.

In your analysis of your case studies some of the following themes could be explored to help with your analysis:
Analyse the factors influencing the development of international business and the role of international business in shaping trends in the international economy
Analyse the impact of multinational company decisions on host and home countries
Assess the foreign investment decisions of international business in terms of their aims and the structuring and evaluation of their options.
Understand and appreciate the limitations of the theories of trade, foreign exchange markets and direct foreign investment

Background/Context
You are adopting the role of a team of international business consultants and have been asked to present your findings to an international trade expert within the UK government. This expert will be keen to understand the implications of your findings and to consider the impact of the investigations carried out by your group.
