For each lesson below, start with two lesson objectives, then describe the lesson, then provide reasoning for each activity.
First lesson.
Teaching commas and full stops. https://www.tes.com/en-au/teaching-resource/revising-capital-letters-full-stops-and-commas-12394547 Modify from this link, you can see at the below that I am just writing the lesson plan based on the link.
Provide a brief description on how the lesson would carry out (HLCO how lesson carry out) and the reasoning behind each activity (Re), for eg: The learning objective of this class is to understand the importance of full stops, commas and capital letters.
This class also aimed to teach the students of the correct use of full stops, commas and capital letters. (Learning Objectives) Start the class by providing an essay without any commas, full stops of capital letters (HLCO). Questions students about how they feel about the essay without punctuations and full stops (HLCO). This would provide them an understanding on the importance of the function of punctuations and capital letters (Re). Then, as a class, they discuss what is the function of capital letter and how it helps us as a reader (HLCO and Re).
Provide several sentences on the board for students to determine how a sentence without punctuation and capital letters should be corrected (HLCO). In small groups, they will be given worksheets with sentences for them to change the meaning of the sentences with comma (HLCO). Blah blah blah…
The above is only a brief draft of what you should write in Step 4. make it sound academically without using all HLCO and Re as it is only a guide for you to see what I expect in this part of the essay. The above contains roughly 100 words without writing formally and reasoning/rationale of the class, hence 200 words for each lesson plan should not be a problem.
Second lesson:
Teaching Quotation Marks. https://teachingwithamountainview.com/teaching-quotation-marks-and-dialogue/ Modify from this link.
Learning objectives:
The learning objective of this class is to understand the importance of quotation marks and dialogue. By the end of the class, students would be able to use quotation marks appropriately. Modify the lesson plan with small introduction to students about quotation mark, main activity (recording dialogues and transcript to dialogues) and closing activities. Also mentioned all the reasoning.
Third lesson: Teaching Narrative Essay with Comics and narrative essay structure. Modify from two links: https://www.teachstarter.com/au/blog/making-literacy-lessons-fun-with-comic-strips-au/. State 2 learning objectives, description of lesson and closing activities, and reasoning. In this class, students need to learn that a narrative essay has to consist of the introduction, rising action, climax, failing action, and conclusion with the help of comics strips.
