Submission arrangement online via CU AULA

The submission requirements will be set out on the module web. Submission will be via AULA only and
will be subject to Turnitin. Failure to submit your work in accordance with the submission criteria will
result in a mark of zero.

File types: pdf (20 MB max.) via Turnitin.

Students will have the opportunity to submit a draft copy of their proposal to Turnitin (one time only) and
see the report before the final submission.

Mark and Feedback Date

Marking and feedback on the submission will be done electronically and within two weeks of the submission
date. The submission will be independently assessed by the Research Supervisor and a designated
Second Assessor who will read the report and determine the mark to be awarded in accordance with the
rubric marking criteria (available on AULA). If the two marks differ by less than 10%, the final mark will be
the average of the two. If the marks differ by more than this amount and an agreed mark is not reached, a
third independent marker will be allocated to mark the work, in which case the mark will be final.

Written feedback will be provided with the mark breakdown on AULA via the same link used for the
submission.

Method of Assessment

Students who undertake any form of research are expected to make an ethics application which must be
done through CU Ethics system and should be approved by faculty deadlines.

Any student who undertakes any form of research before receiving ethics approval will be subject to the
Ethics Misconduct process, which is outlined in the General Regulations, Appendix 1. Penalties can include
zero for your work and possible exclusion from the University for Non–compliance with the ethics process.

1. Apply their knowledge and understanding of the concept and design of a research project,
exploring a defined problem or research question.
2. Plan and take responsibility for a self–managed project within an appropriate ethical framework.
3. Define a project specifying the aim, objectives and realistic targets.
4. Critically research and compile information relevant to the specialist subject and project theme,
using appropriate and justifiable a range of research methods to identify, select and review a wide
range of fully cited information sources to support the subject matter, both historical and current.
5. Develop a research project proposal and methodology framework by considering appropriate data
collection and analytical methods to the problem under investigation.
