Assignment Task The Comparative Law courseworkwill consist of an essay question. Background/ContextThe second part of the module will be assessed through a comparative law CW. It will require a critical comparative discussion of the French, German and American legal systems. Students must pick ONE question only. The questions are set around the following topics (as covered in lectures and seminars):

legal families and legal transplants;sources of comparative law; constitutional Law; civil liberties / human rights. an ability to apply, evaluate and critically analyse in depth rules and doctrines on a limited issue of your choice;

an ability to carry out independent research and demonstrate analytical skills on particular issues.

Coursework question Critically analyse three decisions by the European Court of Human Rights, focusing on a specific, common legal issue relating to EITHER Article 3, Article 8, Article 9 OR Article

10. Explain how each of those cases chosen has contributed to the overall development of Human Rights in Europe.All three cases MUST focus on the same legal issue.
