Healthcare Management Principles: Are HRO and LEAN Complimentary or Contradictory?

The intent of this paper is to evaluate whether High Reliability Principles and Implementation is Compatible with LEAN Management Processes. In healthcare today both processes are practiced and or implemented within various healthcare organizations. However, when evaluating the methodology and concepts behind each philosophy, there appears to be a variety of both conflicting and complementary practices, goals, and principles.
