Description
One of the concerns for the community/public health nurse is the lack of compliance in the home setting. Examine the instructions you may have given to a client when the person is discharged from the hospital, emergency room, or following a routine visit to their health care provider. Compare the readability level of the instructions to the client’s educational level (see readability formula link below). What does this tell you about how easy it will be for the client to follow the instructions when at home? What other barriers to compliance would need to be considered?
