Original Post Prompt : In their article, Stein and Ostrowsky report qualitative data they collected, and these data indicate that college students have different reasons for offering apologies as they attempt to repair their image with their instructors. After reading over the “Analysis” section (pages 6 – 14) and examining Table 2 (page 7), which of the three apology strategies are most appropriate for students to use in Spring 2021 semester (not specifically at SDSU, just in general)? Briefly explain why these three strategies are most fitting for college students currently enrolled who may not always be able to attend synchronous class sessions and/or complete assignments in a timely fashion.
Also, which 2 strategies should college students strive to avoid when composing/delivering an apology to their instructors via email or digital message? Again, briefly explain why these two strategies should be bypassed by sincere apology-givers.
Response Prompt: By end-of-day Tuesday (2/9), respond to two other class members’ original posts. Please craft your two responses (about 100 – 125 words each) by exploring one or more of these questions:
1. In what ways do you agree with the class member to whom you are responding?
2. In what ways do you disagree?
3. Provide a brief example from your own life or observations that illustrates some aspect of your class member’s response.
4. Examine how the class member’s response has enlightened your perspective on the issue (apology strategies that college students should consider using OR avoiding in Spring 2021 semester).
Please answer response prompt.
Please see attached document to review posts to respond to. 100 – 125 words each.
Note: Original post prompt is only there to reference what they used to develop their responses.
