ASSIGNMENT

In each paragraph we are given a set of questions answer each set of questions in paragraph form. For each paragraph there should be one citation in MLA format.

Paragraph 1

Given the actual powers of the office, do Texas citizens expect too much from their governor? What are realistic expectations? (Just for some background, the speaker of the house and the lieutenant government are both similar in “power” as the governor of Texas, according to the constitution of Texas.)

Paragraph 2

Does the election of judges, and the campaign process and electoral politics, serve the cause of justice?

Paragraph 3

Consider the the difficulty that the poor and indigent have in accessing legal services, especially quality counsel in criminal matters, and the effect on class differences in Texas. Does the system perpetuate the difficulty many low-income citizens have in getting ahead? How much influence do race and gender have on difficulties in gaining access to quality counsel?
