Intent:
This assessment focusses on exposing students to the complexities of implementing change in a health setting from delivery through to the evaluation phase. Students are asked to develop a Change Initiative implementation action plan drawing upon one or more models or theoretical frameworks and leadership approaches, providing a rationale for their use.
Referencing:
In-text citations are required, and a reference list should be submitted at the end of the document with APA 7th formatting applied. A minimum of five (5) quality references should be included.
Assessment task
Based on the case study Download case study used in Assessment 2, you are asked to produce an Implementation Action Plan that describes the approach you will take to implement and evaluate the proposed change (what, how and why). Apply theories of change to develop your Implementation Action Plan. Critically appraise the approach to working with stakeholders, conducting the change, and initiating, sustaining and measuring benefit. Your Implementation Action Plan will include the methodology that you will use to evaluate whether the Change Initiative activities have been implemented as intended and how the evaluation findings will be used.
This plan should include (supported by evidence from the literature):
1. Introduction to the Change Project:
purpose, goals and intended outcomes of this change project
2. Theoretical frameworks:
change theory/theories or model/s used to guide implementation of the change project
3. Governance:
appropriate structures, roles and responsibilities that engage stakeholders and support the change project
4. Leadership processes:
to secure change champions and ongoing commitment at all levels across the service/organisation to guide the change project
5. Workforce:
human impacts of the change project and how to engage the workforce to support the change project
6. Communication:
approaches to create awareness, taking into consideration readiness, values and leadership approaches and applying theories of engagement
7. Delivery plan:
outlining deliverables, timelines, roles and responsibilities
8. Process/implementation evaluation:
Propose the methodology that you will use to evaluate whether the change activities have been implemented as intended and how the evaluation findings will be used
