According to the Texas Core Competencies for Practitioners and Administrators (2013), advanced practitioners are those who “support early learning and development through leadership in the development of program policy and practice and their ability to enhance the knowledge and skills of others in the profession.”(p.12). As college graduates, you should develop skills to place you in the category of an “advanced practitioner”.
Research and develop a training for early childhood administrators on a particular leadership concept. Your presentation must be aligned with PAS item(s).
What you will submit:
• A training presentation that will contain:
o “Facilitator Guide” (30 points)
▪ The title of the presentation
▪ Target Audience
▪ Objectives (Linked to PAS)
▪ Training Methodologies/Strategies
▪ Sequence of Training
▪ How many people this presentation is designed for
▪ A list of all materials that will be needed
▪ A description of the set up (small group set-up, any displays, etc…)
▪ Slide by Slide Notes (These should clearly indicate interactive components).
o Power Point slides (50 points)
▪ At least 20 slides but not more than 30.
▪ Slides with objectives clearly stated
▪ Engaging and creative slides that are informative
▪ Slides that indicate an activity (at least 2 with brief instructions)
▪ Reference slide at the end
o Participant Handouts (20 points)
▪ One that participants will fill in as “notes” for presentation and for activities
▪ One or more information handouts
