Social/Emotional Case Study

This power point presentation will include a summary of your work (as a counseling intern )with one student. You will need to show the application of the ISBE/ASCA standards in this project. Identify the student’s prevailing issues and concerns. Interns may discuss how his/her theory of counseling guided the counseling process and how the process proceeded. The identity of the student should be modified to ensure complete anonymity.

Select a student client with whom you have worked during internship and present the following:
General non-identifying demographic information, (e.g. fictitious name, age, etc.)
How did this person come to be in counseling?
Summary of assessment results & information received from other sources (if any)
History of counseling relationship (number of sessions)
Presenting problems or primary focus of topics during counseling
The role of cultural, racial, or gender factors during counseling
Therapeutic peaks of the counseling relationship
Outcome or results from the counseling relationship (i.e. what was different?)
Supporting evidence for the outcome or results (i.e. how do you know the change occurred?)
Specific issues for you as a counselor that were more or less unique to this client

Specific issues that you worked on in supervision that related to this particular client
