As you pursue career opportunities in criminal justice, it’s important to self-assess and understand your own critical thinking traits, abilities, and attitudes to help you determine whether you would be a good fit for a job. Depending on the sector of the criminal justice field, different sets of critical thinking skills and/or attitudes may be called for. In this assignment, you consider a potential career in criminal justice (law enforcement, courts, or corrections) and determine what critical thinking traits, abilities, and attitudes are needed to successfully perform the duties of the job. Additionally, you reflect on your own traits, abilities, and attitudes and how you might improve them to help you succeed in a criminal justice career.

Research a job in the criminal justice field that you may be interested in pursuing in the future.

Identify the criminal justice job you are interested in pursuing and explain the critical thinking traits, abilities, and attitudes that may be required to be successful in this position.
Summarize the results of your critical thinking test and discuss your traits, abilities, and attitudes. Rate your ability to do this job successfully from a critical thinking perspective.
Identify areas of improvement that will help you be successful in the criminal justice field.
Discuss a real-world scenario where these improvements might be beneficial in performing the criminal justice job you researched.
