Using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website (www.cdc.gov) or other valid resources, you will research and write a paper on the current event related to epidemiology (Epidemiology of COVID–19 or Monkeypox).
The paper is to be a minimum of 3 pages in length (max 5 pages) (not including the title page, abstract/summary page, or reference page). The purpose of the paper is two–fold. The first purpose is for you to explain what was learned about epidemiology from the course. The second purpose is to explain how you can relate the information you learned from the course to the current event of COVID–19 or Monkeypox.

The Research Paper should include the following sections:
1) Title page (Separate page; does not count in page limit)
Include the title of the paper, your name, date, & course.2) Abstract/summary (1 paragraph) ((Separate page; does not count in page limit)
Present the summary of your paper.3) Introduction (1–2 paragraphs)
Provide an overview/brief description of the disease.4) Background information (2–3 paragraphs)
Provide background information of the disease; that is, how it started and
progressed.
Include the risk factors associated with this disease.
Include 1–2 peer–reviewed journal articles or other bona fide references (e.g., valid
website, book, etc.) used to obtain information for this section. Include referenced
information in–text as well as on the Reference page.
5) Transmission and symptoms (2–3 paragraphs)
Detailed description of how the disease is transmitted from person to person and
what are the common symptoms.
Include 1–2 peer–reviewed journal articles or other bona fide references (e.g., valid
website, book, etc.) used to obtain information for this section. Include referenced
information in–text as well as on the Reference page.
6) Impact on the population (2–3 paragraphs)
Describe the impact of the disease on the population, including physical and mental health impact, behavioral impact, socio–economic impact, environmental impact, etc.
Include 1–2 peer–reviewed journal articles or other bona fide references (e.g., valid
website, book, etc.) used to obtain information for this section. Include referenced
information in–text as well as on the Reference page.7) Treatment and prevention (2–3 paragraphs)

Describe the prevention methods used.

Describe how you can relate the things you learned in this course to the current
COVID–19 or Monkeypox situation.9) Conclusion (1 paragraph)
State your opinion about the current pandemic (Covid–19) or Monkeypox including
lessons learned and what could have been done or could be done differently for a
