ASSIGNMENT

• pick a psychological disorder category from the following options. Create a 1-2 page flyer (NOT a PowerPoint) designed to raise awareness about the disorder you choose among the general population. Use graphics in your flyer (not just text). Think of what things grab your attention as a starting point). You cannot pick the same disorder you are using for your final project (you will not receive credit if you do this).
• You may choose from the following:
  1. Anxiety disorders
  2. Mood disorders
  3. Obsessive compulsive disorders and related disorders
  4. Schizophrenia
  5. Dissociative disorders
  6. Personality disorders
  7. Eating disorders
  8. Disorders in childhood
• Using your book and Google, research your chosen disorder category.
• Create a flyer that addresses the following:
  1. Define the disorder category
  2. History of the disorder (how it was perceived and explained throughout history) and how the disorder is perceived now in the United States
  3. Risk factors for the disorder
  4. Who the disorder impacts most frequently (age, gender, race)
  5. Recommended treatment and ways to get help (hint- provide resources to a local treatment center/hotline if possible).
  6. 2 ways to reduce the stigma around this psychological disorder
