Purpose/Objective of this assignment: To identify the important parts of a research article from scholarly sources to address a specific research question To compile all required information extracted from multiple research articles into one composite table in order to compare themes and findings for use in subsequent review and critique.
Assignment requirements: Complete the Table of Evidence (TOE) worksheet found on Canvas for all of the quantitative articles your team will be using for the final paper. It may be appropriate to include more than the required number of articles to enable you to choose among the articles included. See instructions and rubric Download instructions and rubric here.
The TOE chart should be completed with brief notes and not complete sentences. Bullet points are helpful to make this a useable document. The purpose of a TOE is to assist you in writing your paper without going back and forth through your articles. It should only have information that you think may be useful for your paper. If part of the article is not applicable to your project, do not include that information in your TOE.
Be sure and use quotation marks of quotes in TOE so you do not accidentally plagiarize when you write the paper. No actual citation is needed as that is in your first column. See Sample1 Sample 2 (Please note: the samples used an older version of the TOE). The TOE will be reviewed and returned to you for revision and inclusion in your final paper.
Note: A TOE is not a standard “APA style” format and does not require a reference list in addition to the chart.
