Evidence-Based Practice Poster
Overview
On this course’s journey, we have identified the significance of the evidence-based practice process and the steps to facilitate answering a clinical question. Now is your opportunity to bring all the course concepts into this final project. Throughout your nursing practice you may be involved in various research projects that address various clinical issues at your place of practice. There is a standard template used to showcase the research as well as the impact on client and organizational outcomes. Follow the directions to develop a research poster.
TASKS 1. Identify a clinical issue in nursing that needs improvement and the rationale of implementing a change.
2. Design an effective PICO on the clinical topic using the techniques explained in the previous modules.
3. Conduct a literature search to identify two practice guidelines from the following databases (AHRQ, CINALH, Pubmed etc.) that can be used to improve the clinical problem.
4. Use a poster template. https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/evidence-based-practice/ebp_resources.html to summarize the PICO, background of the clinical topic, methods, and results. Summarize conclusions from the research and recommendations to answer how implementing the best evidence can benefit clients, nursing staff, and a hospital organization.
