For this discussion question consider what organizations and surveys you may opt-in to provide answers to their questions and why you have chosen to do so. If you have not opted in to completing surveys, do you read reviews left by others before you make a purchase? Do you read articles by magazines like Consumer Reports before making a purchase? Do you ask others about their opinion regarding restaurants, movies, cars, retirement plans, investment choices, vacation destinations, etc. Why would you do this? How does asking questions help you make better decisions?

Why then would it be wrong for Amazon to learn more about their customers preferences? Even though Amazon is the 4th largest retailer in America, is it anti-competitive to learn about your competitors or good business analysis?
