Communication Factors

Communication is an area that leaders frequently target for improvement. Beyond crafting an effective message and using the proper medium to communicate that message, there are many less tangible factors that can impact communication effectiveness, several of which are discussed in Chapters 8 and 9 of your textbook.

Choose one aspect that has impacted your communication effectiveness in the past (example: nonverbals, emotional intelligence, gender differences, culture, listening) and do a deeper dive.

Discuss how this aspect has posed a challenge for you either as the communicator or the communication recipient.

Discuss what you wish you would have known that you know now (how could things have been better)? Be sure to use the textbook and/or lectures and bring in one outside source to supplement
